I Was Certain I Was Expecting Twins – And I’m Not Alone

I knew I was pregnant before I took a test. I got a strange metallic taste in my mouth, and morning sickness hit me hard. When I eventually ran a test, I wasn’t surprised to see two strong lines appear.

My intense pregnancy symptoms alongside my very positive result meant I convinced myself I was carrying twins.

I mean of course I was. Why on earth would I need to be sick so much and feel repulsed by any food that wasn’t bland and beige?

But before you could say “double buggy”, I’d had my first scan and told there was only one baby there. So despite being absolutely sure, I wasn’t expecting twins or triplets, sadly.

I prayed about it at home. I went back two weeks later and there were obviously two. Had two healthy beautiful baby!

But I’m not the only pregnant woman who thinks they’re going to have more than one baby.

In truth, just 3% of pregnant women are expecting twins, triplets, or more – and only 1% of them are due to natural conception – so it’s quite unusual, yet many of us believe we’re among the selected few.
