When Oksana Kobletskaya learned that she was carrying another child, her life took an unexpected turn. Oksana, who already had a 3-year-old daughter, and her husband Sergey were eager about the prospect of growing their family. Nevertheless, they had anticipated a more traditional marriage, with only two children, due to their financial and lifestyle considerations.
The doctor’s passionate response during Oksana’s scan hinted at anything out of the ordinary. She was shocked to learn that she was actually expecting quintuplets instead of just twins, as she had previously believed. “The look on the doctor’s face briefly stopped my breath,” Oksana said. He murmured, “You deserve to get a big house by the sea…,” or words of that effect. The doctor’s shock at this discovery, along with the further news that followed, sent shockwaves across the city.
In her memory, Oksana said, “It felt like a nightmare, like I’d wake up at any second.” Their future plans were shaken by the revelation, which forced a hasty course correction. In the delivery room, where eight doctors were waiting for Oksana, in the 30th week of her pregnancy. She gave birth via caesarean section to three boys and two girls, all of whom were early but healthy. Aleksandra, Dariya, Denis, Vladislav, and David all received their names on the day they were born.
Julia Guseva, the photographer who captured the quintuplets’ early years, remarked her surprise at how well-behaved the infants were at the photo session even though they were only two months old.
