Being a mother is a very meaningful job, and the joy is multiplied when the day comes to give birth to know that I have 2 children.
A mother was left speechless after she gave birth to her first daughter – and a surprise twin followed just two minutes later.
Lyndsey Altice, 30, and husband Wesley, 33, from Wisconsin, had only just been introduced to daughter Ada Maze when medics realized she was still in labor.
A contraction followed, surprising the couple and the medical staff there. After that contraction they met their second child in July 2019.
Lyndsey was captured staring into the birthing pool as she was about to give birth to her second child in the couple’s stunning images of the twins’ delivery.
While pregnant, Lyndsey kept track of her weight and health to ensure the wellbeing of her unborn child. She only had her baby photographed once, but Billie June couldn’t see it.
The mother-of-three said that her one regret was not getting a photo of her husband’s expression when he learned of the birth of a second child.
She recalled: “I instantly became concerned when Ada came out so small because I had gained twice as much weight as I had with my previous birth and I didn’t understand how she could be so tiny.”
Lyndsey added: ‘There are no words to describe what I was thinking when I realized I was about to have another baby right there and then”.
” I was able to predict the following contraction nearly immediately before the nurses started describing what they thought it was. Although I could feel the baby approaching, the contraction prevented me from saying anything”
The medical staff there thought it was a bag of water, which they had never seen happen before, so we were all a bit confused. Then I felt it happening but I couldn’t say it, I knew a second baby was coming.
At that moment in the delivery room, my husband was in shock, my sister was taking pictures. At that time, I had a lot of thoughts in my mind, it all showed on my face.
I must have set a world record for how many times someone can scream “oh my god” in 10 minutes. Now we have settled in we are so happy and I would not change a thing.
During the pregnancy Lyndsey did not see any signs of having a second baby developing in her body. But fortunately, the two children were born safe and healthy.
