Mum Gives Birth To Quadruplets After Struggling With Fertility For Years

When the pair learned the excellent news last year, Natalie Maree, 30, from Roebourne in Western Australia, claimed her husband Kahn was “nearly passed out.” Along with their 2-year-old Kiki, the parents raised Maioha Khan, Frankee Gene Marley Rose, and Maddison Grace.

After being given the diagnosis of “anovulation,” or unexplained infertility, a few years ago, Natalie began receiving daily hormone injections. After years of uncertainty regarding their ability to procreate, she and Kahn were pleased to receive their daughter Kiki. They never once imagined they would have four children, so they were even more shocked to learn Natalie was expecting for the second time last year.

The young mother said she was ‘gasp’ when she found out she was pregnant with four during a routine ultrasound. Speaking to That’s Life, she said she ‘squinted at the dim screen’, before seeing two bags and exclaiming: ‘Twins’. When the sonographer told her she was wrong, she then asked if she was having triplets.

Natalie said: “The sonographer slowly shook his head. Then, without saying a word, he held up four fingers!’

The mother-of-five underwent a cesarean operation to deliver quadruplets at 34 weeks along, and since then, she has kept followers updated on their progress on her Kiki and the Quads Instagram page. The parents ‘counted down’ the minutes till the next meal while it took 90 minutes to nurse all four youngsters. Natalie dispelled the notion of a “postpartum recovery body” by publishing two strikingly dissimilar images on her Facebook. In one, she’s wearing a T-shirt and beaming at the camera, but in the other, five weeks after giving birth, she’s lifting up her shirt to show off her growing baby bump.

But she didn’t want to “avoid a false sense of realism,” she added, adding that she thought about only publishing the first picture.

‘If I had only shared the first image, the comments would have been along the lines of ‘you look fantastic because there’s only four of you,” she told her 29,000 followers.

‘If I only posted the second photo I would’ve received “you should be so proud of what your body has done”.’

She added: ‘The reality is I feel beautiful in the first photo. The reality is I am god damn proud of what my body has done and can do.’
