TWO brothers have become dads together after their partners gave birth on the same day.
After learning that their partners were expecting last summer, George Robinson, 30, and his brother Joe, 27, from Redditch, Worcestershire, had been joking about who would be the first father.
The brothers were taken aback when their parents went into labor on the same day, and both babies were born just over two hours apart at Worcestershire Royal Hospital by midwife Ami Turner.
Joe’s wife Ellie, 27, gave birth to 7lb 3oz Reginald at 3.48pm.
Just two hours and 17 minutes later, George’s fiancée Hayley Bocking, 26, had 8lb 3oz Oliver by caesarean section.
The tots were delivered at Worcestershire Royal Hospital on April 18.
Joe said: “It was nice to have George there so we were able to support each other.”
George said: “Joe and myself both found out we were going to be dads at the same time at a family party last year when we both announced the news so it’s funny how it’s all turned out.”
“The hospital staff were perplexed by it; we were constantly asked who we were and why we were there together, because guests were not permitted.”
‘When we told them we were brothers and both of our partners were in labour they couldn’t get their heads around it.’
Reginald’s proud mum Ellie said: ‘Hayley went into labour on the Sunday morning and I went into labour the next day.
‘We have a family group chat and they didn’t believe us when we said we were in hospital together.’
