Getting used to being a mother and father is difficult enough, but these two appear to have their priorities right, are helping them along the way, and have worked it out. For the most part, at least.

His charming drawings hilariously document his life with his wife Maya, demonstrating the love they have for one another.

From loved-up moments and silly tiffs to their long journey to pregnancy, the adorable pair have been through it all. But their most recent news has made both their real lives and comics all the more exciting—they’ve just welcomed their newborn daughter, Ariel!

Yehuda and Maya have been documenting their everyday life through comics, and it’s incredibly awesome to see how their parenting journey has become such an important part of their work too.

Devir’s jokes are all too real for parents, from changing diapers to restless nights. Although having a newborn baby is difficult, the artist’s paintings demonstrate that it has also provided them a great deal of love and joy.

Funny moments show the pair lovingly doting over their first child, who’s adorably captured with a full head of thick, black hair—a trait she no doubt got from her mom.

Having gained a devoted following online, Devir excitedly announced the amazing news on Instagram: “After 17 hours of endless labor pains we did it!!! We received a new angel to the family!!!” The artist followed the announcement with wonderful snippets of daily life as new parents.

Yehuda Devir’s most recent illustrations from his One of Those Days series reveals what life is like with his newborn daughter, Ariel.

His hilarious comics are all too relatable for those who have kids.

Yehuda and Maya expressed their excitement at the prospect of becoming parents. They informed us, “We’re experiencing a whole new spectrum of emotions and experiences we didn’t know existed.” The voyage exposed new aspects of their characters, not all of which are favorable. “We have a lot of disputes as well,” the pair said, “but we learn from them.”

After the baby was born, Yehuda and Maya had no option but to change their priorities: “There is no more couple, no more team at work… only Ariel.” In fact, the couple now works in shifts and is living under a new schedule. “It’s a new life and we’re getting used to it. But not in a bad way. This experience is going to create a new and better us.”

Maya is an artist herself and collaborates with her husband on the series. “Usually after something interesting … happens to us, we tighten the concept and do a few composition sketches,” Yehuda explained once. “After that, I sit down and start working. When I finish, Maya adds her suggestions for improvement, suggesting color, typography, and so on. All of this process takes no more than a day.”
