Four sons and one daughter were born by caesarean section to Alexandra Kinova, 23, according to representatives of the Institute for Maternal and Child Care in Prague. The mother and her five children were admitted to the intensive care unit, according to the doctors. Ms. Kinova’s son, who she already has, assisted in naming her new five siblings. Deniel, Michael, Alex, and Martin are four males, while Terezka is a female. The two babies were hidden during the scan, thus the family did not learn the genders of any of the infants until after they were born.
The birth occurred “without any complications,” according to Zbynek Stranak, chief physician of the institute’s neonatology division. 95% of infants are expected to grow up healthy, according to him. Ms. Kinova, who is from Milovice, a town northeast of Prague, defied all chances by becoming pregnant naturally with twins. Before last month, the six-child mother was unaware that she was expecting five children. Doctors initially believed she was having twins, but by March, the team realized she was actually expecting four children. She did not learn that she was born in the year of her birth until the following month, though.
Ms. Kinova told Czech news site Denik.cz this month that she was shocked to hear the news.
She said: ‘When we finally found the fifth head, I started crying.’
According to experts, the odds of conceiving naturally are one in a few million.’
The mother claimed that twins run in her partner’s family as well as her own. She claimed that other than four months of morning sickness, her pregnancy had only a few minor difficulties. Ms. Kinova claimed she had no breathing issues and was able to sleep on her side. As she did with her eldest son, she also intends to nurse all five of her children. Despite their best attempts, doctors still do not know the sex of all the infants, according to Ms. Kinova.
She said: ‘I’m looking forward to seeing what they will look like. It’s a great talisman, but we can’t see anything with just the head or the legs.”
The hospital planned to double the number of doctors and midwives for her caesarean section. They said they were given medication to help speed up the infant’s lung development.
