Becki-Jo Allen is a mother to a beautiful daughter, Indiana living in Liverpool, England. A few years later, Allen was pregnant again. When Allen was told that she was expecting triplets, the mother-to-be was both shocked and excited.
Allen was blessed with three adorable babies and she named them Roman, Rocco, and Rohan. The children were born prematurely and spent six weeks in intensive care! Every other individual told Allen that the three children resembled each other. So she finally decided to send their DNA samples to be tested!
The babies were born premature and were very small. The youngest out of the three, Rocco weighed just 1.49 kilograms.
It turned out that her triplets being identical is against the odds of up to an incredible one to 200 million! As her babies looked exactly the same as one another, luckily this young mother has no problem telling them apart.
Allen, initially herself found it difficult to identify which one was which. The triplets have dark birthmarks in between their eyebrows, but Roman is a bit darker than the others. Allen shared that Rohan has a birthmark on his leg as well.
It was difficult for everyone to distinguish the kids. Allen was told at the hospital that the triplets were non-identical. She believed the same as she was told the same thing throughout her pregnancy. But things weren’t the same.
The only way to find out that whether triplets or twins are identical is DNA testing- medically termed as zygosity determination. After having their cheek swabs analyzed in a lab, the triplets were found to be genetically identical. As a result, the triplets are the UK’s youngest naturally conceived set of identical triplets.
