Teen Bullied For Her Incredibly Dark Skin Color Becomes A Model, Takes The Internet By Storm

We all know that the fashion industry can be a pretty harsh environment for work. Many girls reject the possibility of modeling because they just cannot handle the pressure to always look their best. And although though the industry has strict standards for attractiveness, more and more ladies with unusually stunning bodies become the next big stars.

Khoudia Diop, 25 years old gave herself the nickname of ‘Melanin Goddess’ in reference to her dark skin tone, the international model from Senegal was breaking a lot many stereotypes.

Diop, who has taken Instagram by storm with her stunning photos, has also bagged modelling contracts that do not adhere to the concepts of ‘fair’ beauty.

“I was teased a lot growing up, because of my skin tone,” Diop said.

“And even now sometimes, people will make racist comments. Growing up, I faced it by confronting the bullies. As I grew, I learned to love myself more every day, and not pay attention to the negative people.”

She started modeling when she was 17, has won the internet with her beautiful pictures. She’s also inspiring people to embrace their differences, writing that “If you’re lucky enough to be different, don’t ever change.” We couldn’t agree more.

She rose to fame after her pictures shot for the Colored campaign, a platform that celebrates different skin shades went viral. People have been amazed by her confidence and certainly charmed by her radiant smile.

She has taken the task upon her shoulders to not only change the ‘popular’ point of view of beauty but also help fellow dark-skinned girls to rise and shine.

“One of my goals is to make all my dark skinned sisters out there laugh at those mf with their ‘beauty standards’ they’re nobody to tell you how you should look. Start glowing queen,” she wrote on her Facebook page.
