Proud Parents Welcome Britain’s First Set Of 2022 Twins After Suffering Miscarriages

Brigitta Suha, 32, and husband Norbert, 35, are celebrating the birth of their daughters Veronika and Viktoria – who were born just 35 minutes apart at University Hospital Coventry

After welcoming Britain’s first set of twins this year in the early hours of New Year’s Day, two parents have spoken of their double joy.

Brigitta Suha, 32, and husband Norbert, 35, are celebrating the birth of their daughters Veronika and Viktoria – who were born just 35 minutes apart on Saturday.

Because her pregnancy was high-risk, Brigitta went into an induced labor at 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve at University Hospital Coventry.

Veronika was born at 2.54 a.m., weighing 5 lbs 11 oz., and Viktoria was born at 3.29 a.m., weighing 5 lbs 3 oz.

“It has been amazing to find out that we were the first twins of 2022. It will be a nice story to tell them when they get older.

“Having being born on New Year’s Day, it is certainly and birthday I will not forget.

Brigitta and Nobert were delighted to welcome their daughters after enduring two tragic miscarriages in 2020 and 2021.

“I went into Coventry early on in this pregnancy because I was bleeding and was rushed in for scans and found out we were having twins. We were really happy but scared too.

“Obviously because we were having twins, and I was high risk of pregnancy, we had to be careful and go for extra scans and meetings.

“The NHS policy with twins is to induce them at 37 weeks, Their due date was January 20 but I went into labour on New Year’s Eve at 10pm.

“Obviously, at the time, you are not thinking could this be the first birth of the new year.

“But the birth of both Veronika and Viktoria went really well, they were both natural births – we are both so happy even though I know we’ll certainly have our hands full.”

Brigitta praised medics and hospital staff for ensuring a smooth delivery, and said they were just as happy to welcome the twins into the world.

The kids are happy and healthy, according to their proud father Norbert, a manufacturing engineer, and they are enjoying time at home with their two-year-old big sister Bernadett.

He added: “Bernadett was shocked at first, it was like she thinking ‘what are all those babies doing here?’.

“But then after a couple of minutes, she soon came round to being a big sister. She has started to help with bathing them and look after them. We are all really happy.”
