Baby Born With 7 Fully Developed Teeth In Western India

A newborn baby in India had 7 teeth when he was born. The doctors here were surprised and said that this was the first case in the world.

On June 30, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, western India. Little Prayan Sharma was born with seven fully grown teeth on his lower gums. Mother Nikita Sharma, 31, and father Harish Sharma, 31, didn’t notice until he was ten-days-old.

Harish, the boy’s father, said: “Shortly after my son was born, he was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) because he had an infection so my wife couldn’t breastfeed at first.”

Harish, who works at a local software company, said: “As soon as my son was born he was moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) because he had an infection so my wife wasn’t able to breastfeed him at first.

“When he was eventually re-united with my wife and she tried to breastfeed him, she noticed something in his mouth.”

“We never thought a child could be born with one tooth without caring about seven.”

There is no specific reason why a baby is born with teeth, according to Dr. Meet Ramatri, a paediatric dentist at Child Dental Care in Ahmedabad.

He said: “This is a first of its kind it’s rare that babies are born with one tooth but never seven teeth. The teeth had to be removed to avoid any risk to the baby swallowing or choking on them.

Harish eventually consulted a paediatric dentist when Nikita continued to struggle to breastfeed and noticed also that his teeth had become loose. Over the course of three days and two different visits, Dr. Ramatri and his staff performed two procedures.

And the doctors gave a local anesthetic because the boy was too small during the operation to remove the teeth. Avoid the risk that when the tooth falls out, the boy will swallow and choke.

In the first surgery, the doctors took out 4 of them, the remaining 3 were taken in the second real surgery.

According to the National Institute of Health babies born with teeth is as rare as one if 3,000 births and are called natal teeth. And in each case, the teeth must be removed to prevent the possibility that the kid will swallow them if they fall out.
